Degree Requirements
The Master of Arts in Excercise Science, Physical Education, and Wellness is a 30-39 hour degree program. Teacher Licensure is available and requires an additional 20 hours to obtain such licensure. The program is available in a Thesis and Non-Thesis option. Degree requirements are summarized as follows:
Thesis Option
- Core Required Courses: 9 hours
- Research Requirement: 9-12 hours
- Concentration Required Courses: 15-18 hours
- Total Degree Requirement: 33-39 hours
Research hours may range up to 12 hours.

Non-Thesis Option
- Core Required Courses: 9 hours
- Research Project Course Requirement: 6 hours
- Concentration Required Courses: 15-18 hours
- Total Degree Requirement: 30 hours
At least 70% of courses taken must be at the 6000 level.

All categories in the Thesis option apply to the Non-Thesis program of study except for the Research category which is replaced with this Project category.
Adapted Physical Education Concentration (15 hours)

Course Substitutions are allowed upon approval of the graduate advisory committee, department chair/director, and dean of the college.
