Lec. 3. Cr. 3. Prerequisite: or consent of instructor. Theory and techniques of remote sensing and their application to environmental analysis. Microwave, infrared, passive and active techniques on orbiting and geostationary platforms. Multi-sensor analysis, current and planned satellite missions, radar altimetry, estimation of precipitation, soil moisture, discharge, land use and land cover. Scale and uncertainy issues.
